Q. How long is the course?

A. It is a 5K course.  You may run the entire 5K, or any portion of it.

Q. What time should I arrive?

A. You will need to arrive at least 60 minutes prior to designated run time. We will stop check-in approximately 30-minutes prior to the race starting.  If you are late, you possibly will not be allowed to check-in and therefore will not be able to participate.  Please have your (and any guests) waivers ready to turn-in upon arrival.

We do not take walk-ins unless time and availability warrants.  You must pre-register!

Q. Is there a charge for parking?

A. Free Parking and walk to start line.

Q. What should I bring?

. A Valid ID with your birthday (or Service ID) (maybe required) to check-in
. Cash for food and drinks at the after-party
. Garbage bag to store your muddy clothes as they will be sopping!
. A towel to dry off and protect your car seat on the way home
. Change of clothes for after the outside rinse.

Change of clothes & closed toe shoes for zip-lining.

Q: What should I bring if I am also zip-lining?

A. You must have dry clothes and closed toe shoes to zip-line.  If you have long hair, it needs to be pulled back or up. You will not be allowed to zip-line in wet clothes, opened toe shoes, or barefoot. No exceptions!

Q. Is there a place to rinse off and change?

A. There will be a rinse station with changing area available after you complete the course. Remember, this is a rinse station, not a shower. You will not need soap or a washcloth for our rinse station, as we need to keep it moving so everyone has an opportunity to rinse.

Q. Is there somewhere to store my belongings?

A. Yes. You may stow your belongings in a single bag at the pavilion.  Please have your bag clearly marked.  It can be a bag, tote, backpack, etc.  Only 1 bag per person. No coolers allowed. Donít bring anything you donít want covered in mud.

Please leave all valuables at home. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen, items!

Q. What do I get with my registration fee?

A. In addition to the time of your life, your registration fee entitles you to a participation award, if registered by deadline, a entry to a door prize drawing and FREE zip-lining of 2-lines after the run. We will also be serving lunch.

Q. Is there a minimum age limit to participate?

A. Yes.  Children 7-13 years, who are able to swim, may participate ONLY IF they have an adult running with them at all times. They must also be accompanied by and adult at all times while on the property. Please bring a life-jacket for the water obstacles!  Children under 14-years old may have difficulty completing some of the obstacles.

The minimum age to participate without an adult running beside you is 14-years and up.  Please bring a life-jacket for the water obstacles!  Minors (as well as some adults) may have difficulty completing some of the obstacles.

Anyone under the age of 18-years will need to have a parent or guardian accompany them at check-in the day of the event. The parent or guardian must have the waiver completely filled-out & signed prior to getting in line to check-in the day of the run.

Q. How much is the registration fee?

A. Registration fees vary and increase as the run date approaches.  If you are paying the day of the race, please remember to pay with CASH (please bring exact amount).  Please register online, download & fill-in your waiver to turn-in when you arrive. (See fees)

Q. Can I register at the door?

A. NO!  You must be pre-registered. You may pay at the door, but only after you have pre-registered Online. In some circumstances we do allow registration at the door. However, you must get prior approval.

Q. Do I have to be in a team to participate?

A. No. You can participate as an individual.

Q. What is the "Team" division?

A. The "Team" division consists of groups of 5, or more, runners that are running as a team rather than as an individual. They will choose a team name & the winning team will receive their names on a plaque that will be on display at Texas Roadhouse in Longview, Texas.  Each member of the team will receive an individual award such as a dog tag, ribbon, etc.

Q. How large/small do teams have to be?

A. A team should consist of at least 5 people. Only the top 5 times will qualify for the win.

Q. What is the "Youth" division?

A. The "Youth" division is for children 7-13 years old, and who are able to swim. They may participate in the event only when accompanied by an adult runner, both on, and off, the course, at all times. Children may not be able to successfully complete some of the obstacles. You will need to provide a life-jacket for your child to participate in the water obstacles..  There will be 1 winner from this division (see rules for more info)

Q. What if I can’t complete a particular obstacle?

A. You may go around any obstacle that you feel you can't complete. All obstacles will be manageable. The more difficult obstacles will have varying degrees of difficulty to accommodate to different fitness levels.  Remember you must be able to swim or you MUST BYPASS the water obstacles completely!

Q. Do I have to know how to swim to do the water pit?

A. Yes. The water pit will vary according to weather and if you cannot  swim you MUST BYPASS IT! Life Jackets (please bring your own) are optional for swimmers (except youth 15 & under who MUST WEAR one at all times). If you don’t feel comfortable you may always bypass any obstacles.

Q. I am not in the best of shape, can I still participate?

A. Absolutely. The event is for both competitive and non-competitive runners. We do recommend some light cardio a couple times per week paired with some upper body strengthening to help you get up and over the obstacles. However, you’ll have the option to bypass any obstacle that you’re not comfortable tackling.

Q. I am pregnant or have a medical issue, can I still participate?

A. NO! We may know how to put on an awesome event, but our prenatal/medical knowledge is limited.

Q. When is the latest I can register?

A. Unless the event sells out, registration will be open until Noon CDT the Friday before the event. Register early to ensure you get the best entry fee!

Q. Can I transfer my registration to another person?

A. No in most cases, however, you may be able to transfer your registration depending on any arising medical issue or extreme circumstances.

Q. I can no longer participate, can I get a refund?

A. No. We have a strict no refund policy and refunds will not be issued under any circumstances. If you are simply unable to make it, you do have options. Use your registration for the next event the following year. This does not infer that Thomas Falls is obligated to have another event.

Q. How do I register a team?

A. Please have a team captain register first with a team name & number of people that will be on the team.  Each team member should put the team name on the entry form.  Each team member may pay individually, or one person may submit payment for the team.

Each team member MUST bring an individual, completed & signed waiver to check-in.

Q. Do you allow Spectators?

A. Yes – SPECTATORS/GUESTS: MUST PRE-REGISTER along with filling out the TFI liability waiver before they are allowed beyond the office area.

Due to the nature of the mud run course, MINOR CHILDREN UNDER AGE 14-YRS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

Q. Are pets allowed?

A. No. Animals (with the exception of service dogs and prior permission) are not allowed the day of the Run. Watch for our upcoming Dog Days 5K where we welcome owners to bring their dogs to zip-line and run the 5K. See More!

Q. Will there be a photographer?

A. We will have photographers on site taking pictures that day. Be sure to have your bib secured on the front of your shirt so we can identify you in your pictures. Photos will be available on Facebook within a week after your event date.  Please share any pictures that you may take by tagging us on Facebook.

Q. I left something behind, is there a lost and found?

A. Any "found" items will be kept for 30-days after the event. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items.

Q. Can I also participate in the mud volleyball tournament?

A. Sure. You must have a team of 6 players. Remember the tournament starts 1/2 hour after the mud run.  This may not give you enough time to eat lunch, zipline and catch your breath.

Q. Where is the mud run located?

A. March Madness Mud Run is held at Thomas Falls, Inc., located at 5543 US Hwy 259 North,  Diana, Texas.

 

Note: Do NOT PLUG our physical address into your GPS. Some GPS systems are sending drivers in the wrong direction!!

Driving Directions: If using a GPS, set it for intersection US 259 & FM 726 if traveling North toward Diana or intersection US 259 & FM 450 if traveling South.

We are located on the West side of the road. Enter at Thomas Falls sign entrance.
